How an FFL member met his girlfriend on Hinge.

This isn’t a promo for Hinge, I still believe FFL delivers a better experience. But this story shows how the two can work together.

I recently received an email from a member letting me know he’d met someone on Hinge and would no longer attend our events. I was genuinely happy for him. He had the right mindset, stayed consistent, and built real momentum, this outcome was only a matter of time.

He approached dating strategically, with clear standards and no compromises. He attended FFL events regularly and used apps in a balanced way, no doom scrolling, no overthinking. Just checking in occasionally and staying open. At our events, he spoke to everyone, stayed engaged, and kept a positive attitude throughout.

What stood out most: he consistently left events with a date. At one event he and a woman I matched him with spoke all night until the restaurant turned off the lights. I was so happy, they went on another date but ended things and I will tell you why in another post. That consistency gave him an edge. When you know another opportunity is around the corner, rejection doesn’t shake you. That’s the kind of confidence FFL builds, something apps alone rarely provide. While he met his partner on Hinge, FFL played a meaningful role in his journey. It built his confidence, sharpened his approach, and kept him in motion.

And sometimes, the assist matters just as much as the goal.
